38 & 39 Weeks

This last week has sure been an interesting week which is why I haven't posted.  I actually took a 38 week picture, but its still on my camera which is packed in my hospital bag that is still waiting in the van!  I'm sure most of you are somewhat aware what has been going on since its been on Facebook.  Anyways, I have been in the hospital twice this past week and been sent home both times because I wasn't progressing.

Early Thursday morning, about 3:30am I started having contractions.  They were about a minute long every five minutes for well over an hour.  So I just knew that was it!  John's dad came over to watch Mikey and we headed off for the hospital around 8:30am.  I got checked in at the hospital and was in the room still having contractions showing on the monitor.  When we first got there the nurse checked me and I was only a fingertip dilated.  I walked the halls and continued to have strong contractions.  About an hour or so later she checked me again, and no progress.  So they sent me home around 1:00pm.

My contractions continued even though they weren't getting any stronger.  Finally, they slowed down and I was just having them occasionally.  Then on Friday night around 11pm I started getting them again with more force this time.  I tried to get some sleep but around 2am Saturday morning they were getting stronger and were about a minute and a half long every 4 minutes.  So John's mom came over to stay with a sleeping Mikey and we headed off to the hospital around 2:30am only to get the same news as before.  I still wasn't dilated much more than before, so they sent me home again around 5am.

The contractions continued and eventually slowed down.  I haven't been sleeping very well because of them waking me up and keeping me up half the night.  This has been a very tiring week and I am so ready for Wesley to be here already!  I have a doctors appointment this afternoon, and I am hoping and praying for some good news!  Tomorrow is officially my due date, and we are all ready for baby Wesley to arrive!

Hopefully my next post will be about the arrival of our new little bundle!  I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and keep praying for this stubborn little boy!

37 Weeks - Full Term!!

I am full term this week!  As big as a watermelon this week...what many of you have been waiting for!  One of my apps on my iPad actually say that it is a winter melon this week, a pumpkin at 38 weeks and a watermelon at 39 weeks.  But my other one says its a watermelon from 37-40 weeks.  So this is probably going to be my last picture with a comparison, because pumpkin's are kind of hard to come by this time of year!  LOL!

It's hard to believe that Wesley is going to be here so soon!  It could happen any day now!  Last Wednesday I hadn't dilated at all when my doctor checked, I have another appointment this coming Wednesday so we'll see if there is any change!

I sure am getting anxious to meet my new baby boy!  I finally got my hospital bag somewhat packed this last weekend.  I couldn't pack just everything yet because I am still using some of the stuff!  I got Wesley's bag ready to go, and Mikey's gift from Wesley.

Mikey has started acting up more and not listening at all.  I don't know if he is sensing that Wesley is going to be arriving soon, or if its just his age.  I hope he starts to listen better, because he has been driving me and John just about bonkers!  LOL!  This morning at the gym the teacher even had to come get me because he was acting up.  I know its going to be a big adjustment for all of us when Wesley arrives, but I hope we are able to adjust quickly!

We are getting some long overdue rain today, and it has been a lot cooler the past few days, which has been really nice!  Its supposed to start warming up again later this week though, so the nice cool break is almost over!  Well, I'm running out of things to say, so I hope all of you have a great week!

36 Weeks

4 Weeks left!  Can you believe it?  I sure can't!  Every few days I have been having some moderate discomfort.  It always goes away after a few hours, and feels better when I am sitting, but I don't think its going to be long...at the most 4 weeks!

So we have decided on a first name.  We are still discussing middle names, but his first name is going to be Wesley!  Mikey is getting used to the name and most of the time if we ask him what the baby's name is he will say Wesley.  It's cute the way he says it!  Wesley was John's grandpa's middle name.  He was John Wesley.  The two middle names we like are James and Landon.  I really like the name Landon, but I think James goes better with Wesley.  At least we have a first name picked out, so the middle name will come along shortly!
John is going to be out of town  until Thursday this week, so I hoping that I don't have a baby this week!  He is in Garden City, so its not very close!  I've been kind of nervous about him being gone because I am so close and since I've been having the pain that I've had.  I never really had that before with Mikey.  Also Mikey drove me crazy last week when John was out of town for 2 days, let alone 4!  So I am just praying that Wesley doesn't decide to come early when daddy isn't home!

Well, I don't have much else to update on this week, so I am going to sign off for now!  I hope everyone has a great week!

35 Weeks

Baby sure is growing, and I'm surprised he is still as active as he is!  He has to be running out of room in there!  LOL!  So a coconut was the comparison this week, and I'm not sure if the store just had small coconuts or is based on the weight or something.  It is pretty heavy!  LOL!

I think we are close to deciding on a name, but still not for sure!  I'll let you all know once we decide!

So last Saturday we went to a birthday party at Deanna Rose Farmstead and even thought it was a little warm, Mikey had a great time!  That evening John and I went out to celebrate our 6 year anniversary.  We went to The Capital Grille on the Plaza because we had a giftcard.  It was delicious!  When John made the reservation he mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary, so there was a rose on the kitchen side table when we arrived.  They offered us a champagne toast, but I had to refuse since I'm preggo!  Then after dinner we got a free dessert, which was amazingly good!

John's parents came over on Sunday and helped us finish Mikey's Cars room.  It looks great, and he loves it!  We put up the checkerboard border, which you can see in my picture, and put up some cars wall decals.  We also hung his name on the wall that we have actually had since before he was born and it just now made it on the wall!  LOL!

I start going to the doctor every week now, so I have another appointment tomorrow.  I cannot believe that I am a month away from meeting my baby!  Its so surreal that I am so close!  Well, I hope you all have a great rest of the week!

34 Weeks

Baby is as big as a butternut squash this week!  As time ticks by, I can't believe how close I am to holding my new little man in my arms!

Last Thursday was Independence Day!  We went with my parents to a parade and fireworks in Stillwell.  Mikey got a ton of candy at the parade!  The fireworks were by my dads work, so while we were waiting, he took Mikey in to see the big truck that he drives!  He really liked that!  We weren't sure how Mikey was going to like the fireworks because this was his first time going to them.  He loved them!  He wore a pair of noise canceling headphones so it wasn't to loud!

Over the weekend Mikey and I stayed at my parents house so John could paint Mikey's room and the baby's room.  That's why the background color in my picture is different than before.  That is Mikey's room.  He's going to have a Car's themed room to go with his car bed.  We still have to put up the checkered flag border (that's why the paint line isn't even), and some Car's wall decals.

The baby's room is almost finished.  The painting is done, now I just have to get stuff put away.  We went shopping on Monday evening to get the necessities that we needed, like binkies, bottles, pumping accessories (I already have the pump), and some misc items.

Monday is our 6 year anniversary!  Its hard to believe its been that long!  So Mikey is going to have a sleepover with grandma and grandpa on Saturday while John and I have an evening out to celebrate!

Well, I have to get ready to go to the doctor, so I am going to have to cut this short.  So I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and weekend!

32 & 33 Weeks

Well, here I am again posting 2 weeks at a time!  LOL!  Things have somewhat slowed down, but the time I have I just feel like being lazy!  Baby is still growing like crazy, and I know he's running out of room!  Sometimes it doesn't feel to pleasant when he moves.  I've been having some pain due to constipation.

My picture from 32 weeks I didn't have a fruit or veggie because it was supposed to be some kind of squash that I couldn't find.  This weeks picture I had a golden honeydew even though that's not exactly what my pregnancy app said.  It was supposed to be a fruit called a durian fruit, I had no clue where to find one, so I got something that I thought was similar in size.  You should look up a durian fruit, its crazy looking with spikes!

So when I signed off last time, I said we were Mikey was a ring bearer in my uncle's wedding.  He was so cute in his tux!  He walked down the isle just like a little gentleman paired with my cousin Sydni!  It was a fun weekend and a beautiful wedding!

Tonight is Mikey's last t-ball game.  He is getting better at listening to his coach, but still has a tough time focusing on the task at hand.  He is the youngest player on his team and you can totally tellI'm sure he will be much better next year when he is a bit older!

Tomorrow I am having a pre-natal massage.  I am so excited!  I have never had a professional massage before so I am looking forward to it!

John started getting the baby room ready to paint, and got the inside of his closet painted.  Mikey and I are staying at my parents house this weekend while John paints the baby room and Mikey's room.  We are doing Mikey's room with a Car's theme.

So I hope everyone has a great 4th of July, and enjoy some great fun!  We plan to go to the celebration in Stilwell that looks likes has a bunch of fun stuff including a parade and fireworks!  Hopefully I will get a post up next week!  Have a great rest of the week and weekend!

30 & 31 Weeks

Baby boy sure is growing and so am I!  LOL!  I know I didn't get a posting up last week and I am late this week, since today I am actually 32 week, but better late than never!  I have been super swamped!  My schedule should be slowing down, but I still have lots to do to get ready for the baby...only up to 9 weeks left!

I can't believe my no longer baby boy is 3!  He had a great birthday!  We celebrated it with dinner at a Mexican restaurant with our families.  John and Grandpa Miller built Mikey's playset on the Saturday before his birthday, so he was able to get it on his birthday!

Mikey started baseball (well, t-ball) a little over a week ago, and he loves it!  He needs to get a little better at paying attention and listening to his coaches!  Mikey seems to be throwing and batting with his left hand, so we got him a glove that goes on his right hand.  Left handed pitcher...maybe?

Last week was super busy, but it was awesome!  I volunteered for Summer Break Out at our church all last week.  It's' like Vacation Bible School on complete steroids!  I mean, how many people can say they went on a zip-line at church!  The decorations were crazy!  Our theme was Jesus, Believe Him or Not, based off of Ripley's Believe It or Not, so there were all kinds of crazy decorations!

After SBO on Friday, Mikey and I went to visit my grandma is Westmoreland.  We had a great visit!  We stayed until Tuesday morning.  On Saturday, we went and had a great time celebrating my cousin's Jace's birthday at my aunts house.  Mikey had a blast playing in the pool, and my other cousin Rhyan was being a cute little mommy to him watching him in the water.

While we were at my grandma's house, John, his brother, and dad went on a fishing trip.  They caught lots of fish and had a great time!  I am looking forward to having one big fish fry!

Yesterday we had our pre-admission appointment at the hospital.  It just reminds me of how incredibly close we are to having this baby!  We still have so much to do to get ready, the first thing on the list is getting his room ready!

This weekend we are going to my Uncle's wedding.  Mikey is one of the ring bearers.  I can't wait to see Mikey in his cute little tux!  Well anyways, I hope everyone has a great weekend!  I will try to update sooner next week!

29 Weeks

I cannot believe that I only have 11 weeks to go, if I even make it that far that is!  It seems like we have so much to do and such little time to do it in!  We still have to get the room ready, and that's a biggie!  Painting, organizing the furniture, getting Mikey's old clothes out of storage and washing and hanging them up, and that's just for the room!  I ordered the baby's infant seat the other day, they didn't have the color I wanted in the store, and got an email that its on back order.  Hopefully it will be here before baby!

Baby sure is growing, he likes to kick or punch me in places that hurts!  Every once in a while I get pressure on the bottom of my bump, so I think he's trying to stretch out and there isn't enough room!

Last week we had a huge rainstorm!  The end of our street was a swimming pool for a couple of hours before the water went down.  A few of the houses across the street from us had water in their garages and basements.  Behind their houses, there is a creek that runs through, and the water was so high that it was actually covering the road behind them and it was over the main road that it runs under.  We have lived here for almost 6 years, and I have never seen the water that high!  Thank God we didn't get any water in our basement!

Last week I had said that John was going to start working on Mikey's playset if we had good weather, well we did have good weather, but the darn kit of parts and brackets did not get shipped until last Friday even though John had ordered it over a week before.  So we should be getting them sometime this week.  So I guess John will get to start working on it this weekend.

Mikey's birthday is this Sunday!  I can't believe my little baby is going to be 3!  He is growing up way to fast!  I haven't planned a party for him, because this month is crazy busy!  Maybe we will have a small get together with family and friends in July after John has a chance to get his playset built!

Mikey starts baseball next Tuesday, I'm sure he's going to love that!  We have to go find him a glove sometime this weekend.  Well, like I said I'm super busy, so I better go and get some things done before I have SBO teacher training tonight!  I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and weekend!

28 Weeks

Baby sure is growing like a weed!  He moves around like crazy all the time too!  Yesterday he was kicking or punching and it actually hurt a bit.  I am getting this posting up a little late considering I'm 29 weeks today.  LOL!  But better late than never!

I had my 3-hour glucose test last Wednesday and I passed with flying colors!  Thank God!  It would not be fun to have gestational diabetes!  My doctor said my levels were way below the concerned range!

On Saturday we had our 4D ultrasound.  It was so neat to see the baby in so much detail!  Unfortunately, he was sleeping most of the time despite the fact that I ate some chocolate right before!  We did confirm that he is definitely a boy, he wasn't shy at all!  At one point he was actually chewing on his umbilical cord, it was so cute!

We still have not been able to come up with a name.  At this point it seems like He is going to be here before we actually have a name!  LOL!  Yesterday I set up my pre-admission appointment at the hospital.  Its in 3 weeks, I can't believe I am that close already!

Monday, after our monsoon of a rain storm, we went to the nursery to pick out plants and flowers for our front landscape.  Even though the ground was drenched John was able to plant them that evening.  It looks great, but I think we may need a few more flowers in some areas since there is still some bare spots!  LOL!
The next few weeks are going to be busy busy busy!  Mikey is going to be starting baseball in a couple of weeks.  I have Summer Breakout in a couple of weeks as well that I am volunteering for.  SBO is like Vacation Bible School on steroids, it is going to be so much fun!  I have been helping plan it since September last year, so it will be awesome to see it all in action!

Hopefully we are going to have some nice weather this weekend.  John is going to start building Mikey's playset if it is!  That will be a lot of fun for Mikey to play on when he gets it done!

Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

27 Weeks

I made it to the third trimester!  Woohoo!  Baby is as big as a rutabaga this week.  Honestly, I think my rutabaga is smaller than the head of lettuce I had last week!  LOL!  I'm also not sure what to do with it now, I have no clue what to use a rutabaga for.  So the Prilosec is definitely helping a lot!  I haven't had to take any tums since I started taking it last Thursday morning, and I feel great not having that stupid reflux!  This Saturday we are going to have a 4D sonogram done.  I am so excited to be able to see our baby again and in so much detail!

So as I said last week I had my glucose screening test, and I failed it by 2 points!  So now, I have to go in tomorrow to take the 3 hour test.  Urg!  I have to be there at 7:45am after fasting for 12 hours so they can draw my blood.  Then I have to drink that super sugary drink, think about kool-aid with at least twice the amount of sugar, and they draw my blood after 1, 2, & 3 hours.  Its not going to be fun at all, and I am probably going to be starving by the time I am done!

Well I dropped off the paperwork and deposit for Mikey's preschool next year.  He is very excited to go, and I know he is going to love it!  I just can't believe how big my little boy is getting!  Where has the time gone?

We had a nice time visiting my Nana and Papa in Salina this last weekend.  Mikey and I rode down with my parents and picked up my brother in Manhattan.  John was already there because he was working at a bank in Salina for the weekend, which is why we went down in the first place.  It was an interesting drive on the way home on Sunday because of all of the storms.  We basically drove through all of them, then when we got home the ones we drove through came here.  LOL!

We got our AC fixed yesterday.  It was low on freon again, so he had to refill it.  We have a small leak somewhere, but it is the original AC/Heater to the house, so at least it still works!  I'm sure we are going to have to replace it sometime in the next couple of years.  Right now we don't even have it on since its going to be in the 70's all week, and I love the fresh air!

On the other hand, our big freezer in our garage isn't doing so hot, oh wait, it is too hot and not cold enough...lol!  We need to get a new one before it completely stops working and all of our meat and everything else spoils!  It started doing the same thing at the end of last summer, but once winter hit and it cooled down it was able to stay pretty cold.  But its definitely time for a new one now!

I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and weekend!  Pray for my glucose test results to come back negative tomorrow!

26 Weeks

Baby sure is getting big!  I am still constantly going to the bathroom!  I'm having horrible acid reflux and have been taking Tums like crazy!  I finally asked my doctor today at my check-up what else I can take for it, and she gave me a bunch of samples of Prilosec.  Hopefully that will help!  Baby still kicks like crazy, and he has started getting hiccups a lot too.  Mikey had them all the time when I was pregnant with him, at least 2 or 3 times a day!

I had my glucose screening today, so hopefully those results come back negative!  Baby is measuring like he should which is great!  I start going to the doctor every 2 weeks now, I can't believe how close I am getting!  Next week, well actually tomorrow since I am posting this so late, I will officially be in my 3rd Trimester!  Its amazing how quickly this pregnancy seems to be going, and we still have a lot to do to get ready, like paint and get the baby room set up and we still need to pick out a name!  I don't know why it is so difficult this time!

We took Mikey on a preschool tour today, and are in the process of registering him!  He loved it there and didn't want to leave, and John and I liked it a lot too!  It's called Heritage Christian Academy Preschool.  They are also a private school for K-12, but the preschool is sort of separate.  So we have that taken care of, I just need to turn in the paperwork next week!

Our AC isn't working very well, so it has been nice and hot in our house the past couple of days!  Last summer we had to get freon added to it and it worked fine all summer, so we probably need to have that done again.  We are having someone come look at it sometime soon!

As you can see Mikey was picking at and eating my lettuce last night when we were taking the pictures!  I guess its a good thing that he likes lettuce so much!  LOL!

Well, its about time for us to eat dinner so we can go to church.  So I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and weekend!

25 Weeks

Baby boy is as big as a head of cauliflower this week!  He is sitting really low, definitely lower than Mikey was at this point!  It seems like I have to go to the bathroom constantly, and the annoying part is that half the time I don't even go that much!

It has finally got nice outside, and for now it seems like it is going to stay that way...knock on wood!  It is supposed to rain for a few days starting tomorrow, but I can handle a warm rain, its that cold stuff I am tired of!  LOL!  Last weekend was kind of icky and rainy, so John wasn't able to get any of his outdoor projects done.  We did start cleaning out the baby room though!

On Saturday, I found my dream stroller on craigslist, and got it for more than half off what it would cost new!  Its a Joovy Caboose Ultralight Sit & Stand stroller and they retail new for $260+!  I was excited to finally find one.  I have been looking for a while, and they are very hard to find!

Mikey started swim lessons last night, and he loved them!  He is taking them at the YMCA, since we are members there we get the lessons really cheap!  I signed him up to play baseball (probably t-ball) in JuneDaddy will have to help him too!  I am excited for him to start that and he says he is too!

Michial's potty training is going well!  I don't think he has had an accident in at least a week (knock on wood again) other than at nap time!  The other day he peed a little bit in his undies but was able to stop himself until he got to the potty!

Not much has really happened this week, so I don't have much else to say!  So I am going to take a bathroom break!  :-)  Hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week!

24 Weeks - It's V-Day!

This week was a big milestone in my pregnancy!  Last Thursday, was "V-Day" (viability day), which means if the baby were to be born any day from here on out, he has a much better chance of survival!  The survival rate is 40-70% this week, and goes up to 50-80% next week (tomorrow), and at week 26 goes up to 80-90%, and after that it just keeps going up!  But I would just rather have baby stay in a bit longer, at least 14 more weeks!  LOL!

Anyways, baby is as big as an ear of corn this week.  Actually as long as, baby isn't that long and skinny!  LOL!  The other comparison is a cantaloupe, but I prematurely used that comparison a couple of weeks ago, so i didn't want to take another picture with a cantaloupe.  The baby sure has been kicking/moving up a storm lately!  It seems like he is moving every time I sit down, I'm not sure when he sleeps!  LOL!  We still are no closer to picking a name, its so hard!  I wish it was as easy as picking Mikey's name!  LOL!

We signed Mikey up for swimming lessons that start on Monday and is once a week for 6 weeks!  I am so excited to see how he likes them!  Then in June he is going to play Bitty Baseball which is 4 weeks, but 2 times a week!  So I hope he will have fun!

Last Saturday I went to get a long overdue pedicure and manicure!  It had been over a year since I had had one!  It felt wonderful!  :-)

This last Monday John was off of work, so we took Mikey to the zoo.  He loved having his daddy there!  I think he maybe rode in the stroller for 10 minutes total.  He was either walking or was riding on daddy's shoulders.  Mikey of course fell asleep on the way home because he was so exhausted!

Yesterday it was about 85 degrees outside and we gave Beau a bath.  Mikey helped daddy give him a bath and then had his turn being sprayed with the hose!  We have a small Little Tikes slide and John was spraying it with the hose to create a water slide.  Mikey loved it and didn't want to stop for dinner!  It is 80 again today, and can you believe we are supposed to have a snowstorm tomorrow night?  In May!  It's only supposed to be 39 degrees tomorrow.  :-(  I thought we were finally going to get warm weather to stay, but I guess I was wrong!

I hope you all have a great rest of the week!

23 Weeks

As big as a grapefruit this week!  This kind of confused me because my grapefruit was quite a bit smaller than my papaya last week.  The website I looked at also says that the baby is 10.5-11.8 inches.  So I'm wondering if it refers more to the circumference of the grapefruit...I'm not exactly sure!  But baby is definitely growing and not shrinking!  LOL!

We are still not any closer at coming up with names.  There are a few that we like, but nothing definite at all!  This is hard!  LOL!

The Grace@home conference last weekend was phenomenal!  We heard a lot of great info and got a lot of good ideas to apply to our parenting and how to help Mikey grow better spiritually!

We have been putting Mikey on timeout when he doesn't listen or does something he knows he is not supposed to.  So, his new thing that started yesterday is that if he doesn't want to do something I ask him to, he puts himself in timeout!  How am I supposed to respond to that?  He can be such a goofball sometimes, and sometimes I want to laugh at things he does when I know that I shouldn't.

John is trying to figure out whether he wants to buy or build a playset for Mikey.  I cannot wait until he does so we can go outside and play!  Obviously it has to be warm first...I am so sick of this weather!  Yesterday I was wearing capris and a short-sleeve shirt, and today Jeans and a sweater with a coat and gloves outside!  This weekend is supposed to be nice again, and I hope and pray it stays that way!

We took Beau and Mikey to the dog park on Sunday, and Mikey had just as much fun as Beau!  He loved seeing all the other dogs and getting to pet them.  Beau was actually ready to leave before Mikey was, because he wore himself out running like the wind!

Well, I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week and a great warm weekend!

22 Weeks

What an exciting weekend we had last weekend!  We had our gender reveal party and found out we are having a boy!  I am very excited, and now John and I need to focus on picking out names, which has proven to be hard!  We can't find any names we really like!  Mikey was so easy since Michial was after my grandpa, and his middle name John has been passed down first then middle name for generations.  I know I really wanted a girl, but Mikey is going to love having a brother close to his age!  Maybe God will bless us with a baby girl in the future!

Anyways, our baby boy is as big as a papaya this week!  He has been kicking up a storm!  It's one of the best feelings in the world!  I love that he can hear us talking to him now and can get used to all of our voices!  Mikey is so cute wanting to kiss his baby brother all the time and gives my belly kisses, its so sweet!  He say's he is excited to meet his new baby brother!

Potty training update- Mikey is doing really well!  He only has accidents every now and then, and it seems like it happens if he is overly tired or in an overwhelming situation.  He has gotten much better at pooping on the potty and hasn't had that kind of accident for at least a week.  Except for last week when he was at nap, he decided he didn't want to poop in his pullup, so he we on the floor in his room instead!  I am just glad it was solid, so it was pretty easy to clean up!  LOL!  But other than that he seems to be doing a great job!

We are trying to figure out what we are going to do next year about pre-school, and where to send Mikey.  He is very excited about going to school, and always says he wants to go to school like his uncle Dylan!

This coming weekend is the grace@home conference and I am so excited for it!  We are going to get acquainted with more tools to help our sons in their relationships with Christ.  It is going to be great, and I can't wait!

Well, I'm running out of things to say, so I'm going to close for now.  I hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

Gender Reveal Party - It's a BOY!!!

What an exciting party we had yesterday!  For those of you who couldn't make it, here is a re-cap of the events.

While we were waiting for everyone to arrive, everyone got to place their vote on the voting board, deciding what team they were going to play on.  As you can see, there were twice the votes for a girl!

We ate some snacks that were based off my cravings: Fruit, guacamole & chips, chocolate, cookies, and mini pigs-in-a-blanket.

After everyone arrived it was time for our first game.  Everyone took an Old Wives Tale quiz.  Team Pink had the member with the most correct answers, so they won!

As they were taking the quiz I looked over our guessing game guesses.  Team blue had a member with the closest guess, so they won that one.  So at this point we had a tied score of 1 each!

The next game we played everyone had a ping pong ball and whatever cup they made it into, that team got a point.  Team Pink won that game!

Our final game was shooting cups with a nerf gun.  Whichever team knocked the most cups down won.  Even with half the amount of members, team blue won this game!  So we ended with a tied score of 2!  So everyone got a prize!

We ended the party by cutting the cake to see if it was pink or blue, and it was blue!  So we are having another boy!  Mikey is going to have a little brother!!

Thanks everyone for coming to find out with us!

21 Weeks

Okay, so I took these pictures last night and when I was buying my fruit I could of swore that my comparison this week was a cantaloupe Well I guess I jumped ahead a few weeks because the cantaloupe isn't until week 24, its supposed to be a pomegranate this week.  Oh well!  Baby is growing a lot, about 10.5 inches and 12.7oz this week!

Last Thursday we had our sonogram and got to see our baby!  Mikey enjoyed seeing the baby!  Although, I don't know that he could really tell what he was looking at.  We are going to have a 4D sonogram done sometime next month, and he should be able to tell better.  The baby was sleeping most of the time during the sonogram, so there wasn't much wiggling going on!

I am so excited for our party Saturday, and so anxious to find out if we are expecting a girl or boy!  I have quite a few little things to do to get ready!

Last weekend Mikey and I went with my parents to pick up my brother in Manhattan, and then head to Salina to visit my Nana and Papa.  We celebrated my brothers birthday and hung out with family.  On the way back on Sunday we stopped in Abilene to visit my great-grandma, who has stage 4 ovarian cancer.  She seemed like she was in great spirits and enjoyed seeing us all.  We didn't stay very long because Mikey was getting antsy.

I am loving this weather that we are having!  It has been so nice not having to wear a coat and being able to spend time outside!  There are supposed to be some strong storms tonight, so hopefully everyone stays safe!  Hope everyone has a great rest of the week, and next post I will know the sex of the baby!  Yeah!!!

20 Weeks - Halfway There!

I am halfway there!  Its so hard to believe that in 20 more weeks I will be holding my baby!  The baby is as big as a banana this week.  Its kind of an awkward comparison since a banana is so skinny, but its based off the length, about 6.5 inches!  The baby is kicking/moving regularly now!  John was actually able to feel the kick for the first time on Saturday!

Saturday we took Mikey to an Easter egg hunt at Louisburg Cider Mill.  It wasn't much of a "hunt", it was more like a pick-up!  LOL!  Since it had rained earlier that morning the ground was kind of muddy, so they just dumped the eggs along the edge of sidewalks.  Mikey didn't care, he just wanted the candy!  The Easter bunny was there, and Mikey was kind of hesitant of her, but she gave him lots of eggs, so he warmed up to her!  LOL!  I was happy to get some of their yummy cider donuts!

Sunday was Easter and we went to church with my family then we went and ate lunch.  After we finished eating John hid eggs in my parents yard for Mikey to find.  He had so much fun finding them with a little help from Alexa and Dylan!  He ate way too much candy this weekend!

Potty training is going pretty good!  We are still working on going poopy on the potty.  Mikey hasn't had any peeing accidents for several days, but he has had a couple pooping accidents.  So we still are trying to get that down.

Thursday is my sonogram!  I am so excited to get to see how much baby has grown!  We are going to take Mikey so he can see his baby sister or brother!  He ask all the time to hear baby's heartbeat, and last night he gave the baby a kiss goodnight, it was so sweet!  I am so anxious to find out whether its a girl or boy, but I still have to wait another week after the sonogram until our gender reveal party!

The good news is, its starting to warm up (knock on wood)!  Its so exciting that we will get to play outside soon and won't have to wear coats anymore!  I hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

19 Weeks

19 Weeks, its hard to believe I am so far already!  It feels like just last week I found out I was pregnant!  I can't believe I am going to be 20 weeks in 2 days!  So my bump looks somewhat smaller in my pics this week, I don't think it is, I think its just the sweater I am wearing!  Baby is still growing like crazy and moves all the time!

I had a doctors appointment last Wednesday and we got to schedule my sonogram!  It's going to be next Thursday April 4th, but my gender reveal party isn't until April 13th, and we are waiting to find out when everyone else does!  Its going to be so hard to wait!

This week has sure been an adventure of sorts, I finally started potty training Mikey!  He will be 3 in June and I thought it was about time, plus I didn't want to have 2 kids in diapers!  Mikey has also been taking about wanting to go to school (pre-school), and he has to be potty Strained to do that.  So I started him last Thursday and we went cold turkey.  No diapers or pull-ups except for a naptime and bedtime.  I let him pick out some cool underwear and he has been wearing them.  He is doing pretty good, only a few accidents so far.  He has even started telling us that he has to go potty!

We took Mikey to an Easter egg hunt on Saturday and he had a great time!  He was emptying out the eggs in his basket as he was picking them up, it was cute!  He found one of the special eggs so he got a giant chocolate bunny as a prize.  Hopefully it will be nice this Saturday, because we are planning on taking him to another one at Louisburg Cider Mill, and I'm looking forward to enjoying some yummy cider donuts!

This last weekend we had yet another snowstorm resulting in 7 inches of snow.  Mikey had a fun time playing with Uncle Dyl and grandpa in the snow on Sunday.  They built a big snowman, and Mikey wanted to name him Michial!  LOL!  Now I'm definitely ready for it to warm up so we can start doing things outdoors, like going to the park and the zoo!

Well, I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and an awesome Easter!  Remember, He has Risen!!!

18 Weeks

I can't believe I am 18 weeks!  Only a couple of more weeks until I am at the halfway point!

The baby sure is growing!  As big as a sweet potato this week!  The baby has been kicking up a storm and doing all kind of flips and somersaults!  I have been trying to get John to feel it, but he hasn't been able to yet.  I'm sure it won't be to long!

I finally got some watermelon!  It wasn't the best since it was the already cut kind from the grocery store, but it was still watermelon!  I am still craving guacamole and have been eating it a couple of times a week.  A friend told me an easy way to make guacamole for a quick snack.  Just mash the avocados and just add salsa.  I put a little lime juice and garlic powder in with it too.

I'm sitting here watching it snow, that's right I said snow!  I have I said that I'm ready for it to be warm!  Tomorrow is the first day of Spring and its snowing!

Tomorrow I have a doctors appointment and we supposed to schedule the ultrasound.  I am so excited to find out!  Its still going to be a few more weeks because we are planning our Gender Reveal Party for April 13th, and we are going to find out when everyone else does!

On Saturday we took Mikey to get his pictures taken with the bunnies, chicks and baby ducks.  He had so much and he didn't want to leave, he threw the biggest fit when we left!  I can't wait to get the pictures back because they turned out so cute!

I hope everyone has a great week this week!  Hopefully warm weather is just around the corner...I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

17 Weeks

The baby is as big as an onion this week!  No longer fruits, we are on to veggies for a few weeks!  LOL!

This week has been pretty uneventful for the most part.  It's been cold, and I just want it to warm up, I'm tired of this slingshot weather where it is kind of warm for a few days then it gets cold again!  I had MOPS on Monday and my woman's discipleship group yesterday.  I took Mikey to get his haircut yesterday.  He had been asking to go get his haircut with Auntie Lexi for the past few days!

Saturday he is going to have his pictures taken with bunnies.  He can't wait!  He had so much fun last year!  Sunday we wanted to take Mikey to the St. Patrick's day parade, but its supposed to be cold and possibly rainy, so we are going to have to play it by ear.

The baby is continuing to move around more and more, and I just love the feeling!  I can't wait until we can feel the kicks from the outside so John and Mikey can experience it somewhat!  Cravings this week still include guacamole, and I really want some good watermelon!

I can't really think of anything else to write, and I hear Mikey waking up from nap, so I'm going to leave it a short one this week!  I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and weekend!

16 Weeks

The baby is growing like a weed and as big as an avocado this week!  I have been feeling little movements more and more which is exciting!

This week has been crazy busy!  Everyday since last Monday I have been volunteering at the Just Between Friends consignment sale.  Last night was the final night with people picking up their leftover clothes.  I sold almost everything I took, but I didn't have much this sale.  Mikey and daddy have been having a lot of quality time together this week, since I have been gone volunteering almost every night!

I got Mikey a tricycle at the sale and he loves it!  He rides it around our living room all the time!  I know its an "outdoor" toy, but when I brought it home he was so excited to try it out.  He hasn't quite figured out how to pedal it yet, but I'm sure it won't be to long before he does!

I have been craving random things, like any pregnant woman!  Guacamole, sub sandwiches, donuts, watermelon (which I have yet to have since good watermelon is hard to come by right now), and iced tea just to name a few!  My morning sickness has still been staying away, so I think its over for now!

On Sunday we took a trip to Nebraska Furniture Mart to look at new above the stove microwaves for our kitchen.  We have been taking about getting one for years to free up some counter space, but hadn't did it yet.  We got one, and one Sunday afternoon and evening while I was volunteering at the sale John was able to raise the cabinet above the stove and install the microwave!  It looks awesome!  So now, he has put in new can lights in the living room and kitchen, under counter lights, and installed our new microwave!  Its awesome to have such a handy hubby!  Now we just have to save up the money to redo our kitchen and get rid of the ugly green counter tops and fake brick back-splash!  When we do get the money to re-model it, we are going to move our pantry location to create more useable counter space!  I can't wait, but it will probably be a while before that happens.

I cannot wait for spring!  I am so tired of this cold.  Today it was super windy and the wind was bitter cold.  Well, I am running out of things to write, so I hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

15 Weeks

This week has been crazy with all the snow!  Last Thursday we had our first major snowstorm in years and got more than a foot of snow!  John stayed home that day, and we had a lazy day together.  I made snowcream for us to enjoy.  Mikey had a blast playing in the snow with daddy!  Daddy even built him a fort, that he wouldn't go in!

Last night we had a second snow storm in a week!  Everyone was saying that this storm was going to be even worse than the last one and resulting 12-16 inches, calling it "The Blizzard of Oz 2.0", "Toto's Revenge", and "Snowmageden" are just a few of the names I heard.  It turned out to be not as bad.  We probably would of ended up with more snow if it was just a bit colder outside because it actually took it a while to stick.  But, John had off again today and he and Mikey had fun playing in the snow again!  They built a snowman (it was mostly John doing the building). and John pushed him on a trash can lit (a makeshift sled) down the small incline in front of our house.

Anyways we were able to make it to MOPS on Monday before the storm started.  Last night I had to volunteer at the Just Between Friends consignment sale.  I got home before the roads got bad, they were just wet and slushy.  Today I had to volunteer again, I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to make it today, but since the storm wasn't as bad as they predicted the roads were pretty clear.  John ended up driving me and dropping me off because at first we weren't sure how the road were.  Tomorrow I have the pre-sale to go to, and I am excited to shop!  Then I volunteer again on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and next Monday!  I have a busy week as you can see!

Last week I had a doctors appointment just a normal prenatal check-up.  My doctor said that I she's not going to schedule my gender scan until my next appointment!  I am so anxious to find out, but its going to be another 5-6 weeks!  We are planning on having a gender reveal party after we find out, so when we have the ultrasound we are going to have the tech write the sex down and we are going to take it to the bakery and have a cake made with the inside either pink or blue.  So then when the cake is cut open at the party it will be a surprise to everyone!

Well, I think its about dinner time, we are having meatloaf and mashed potatoes, and the meatloaf smells amazing!  So I better go eat!  I hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

14 Weeks

I can't believe I am 14 weeks, only 6 weeks until the halfway point!  The baby is as big as a lemon this week!  I am so anxious to be able to find out the sex of the baby!  I just want to know right now!  I am getting tired of just calling the baby "the baby" instead of being able to call it "she" or "he".  Even though I call the baby she sometimes!  LOL!

John and I really haven't discussed names yet for either a girl or boy.  With Mikey his name was already decided on before we found out he was a boy.  If he would have been a girl we didn't have a name picked out yet. Mikey was named after my grandpa, and that's where the spelling came from too.  And his middle name John, is obviously his daddy's name.  The name John has been passed down for generations, and has alternated from first to middle name each time.  So Mikey pretty much had a built in name!

I am so glad I am not sick anymore!  It seems like I have been sick the whole month of February, and the second half of January.  I first had a cough for a couple of weeks, then I felt better for a few days before I got sick with the stomach bug, and then when I felt better from it I started having a runny nose and sneezing!  Now its time for the sickness to go away and not come back!

John has been pretty busy around the house the last couple of weekends.  He has put new can lights in our kitchen and living room!  It is so much brighter in our house, its awesome!  He is planning on putting a few in our hallway to, so our house is going to look much different with all the lights.

We got some sad news this week.  My great-grandma found out that she has ovarian cancer.  We are still waiting to find out how bad it is, but the preliminary results were not good and they think it may be stage 4, but there may be only one tumor and the cancer hasn't spread yet.  There are many people praying for her!  We are praying that they are able to remove the tumor and get rid of the cancer!

I have a doctors appointment on Wednesday and hopefully we will get to schedule my 20 weeks ultrasound so I can start planning our gender reveal party!  Mikey took pictures again with me this week and he tried to eat my lemon!  I thought it was cute that he tried to stand exactly like his mommy, and then Beau decided to photo bomb us!
