23 Weeks

As big as a grapefruit this week!  This kind of confused me because my grapefruit was quite a bit smaller than my papaya last week.  The website I looked at also says that the baby is 10.5-11.8 inches.  So I'm wondering if it refers more to the circumference of the grapefruit...I'm not exactly sure!  But baby is definitely growing and not shrinking!  LOL!

We are still not any closer at coming up with names.  There are a few that we like, but nothing definite at all!  This is hard!  LOL!

The Grace@home conference last weekend was phenomenal!  We heard a lot of great info and got a lot of good ideas to apply to our parenting and how to help Mikey grow better spiritually!

We have been putting Mikey on timeout when he doesn't listen or does something he knows he is not supposed to.  So, his new thing that started yesterday is that if he doesn't want to do something I ask him to, he puts himself in timeout!  How am I supposed to respond to that?  He can be such a goofball sometimes, and sometimes I want to laugh at things he does when I know that I shouldn't.

John is trying to figure out whether he wants to buy or build a playset for Mikey.  I cannot wait until he does so we can go outside and play!  Obviously it has to be warm first...I am so sick of this weather!  Yesterday I was wearing capris and a short-sleeve shirt, and today Jeans and a sweater with a coat and gloves outside!  This weekend is supposed to be nice again, and I hope and pray it stays that way!

We took Beau and Mikey to the dog park on Sunday, and Mikey had just as much fun as Beau!  He loved seeing all the other dogs and getting to pet them.  Beau was actually ready to leave before Mikey was, because he wore himself out running like the wind!

Well, I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week and a great warm weekend!

22 Weeks

What an exciting weekend we had last weekend!  We had our gender reveal party and found out we are having a boy!  I am very excited, and now John and I need to focus on picking out names, which has proven to be hard!  We can't find any names we really like!  Mikey was so easy since Michial was after my grandpa, and his middle name John has been passed down first then middle name for generations.  I know I really wanted a girl, but Mikey is going to love having a brother close to his age!  Maybe God will bless us with a baby girl in the future!

Anyways, our baby boy is as big as a papaya this week!  He has been kicking up a storm!  It's one of the best feelings in the world!  I love that he can hear us talking to him now and can get used to all of our voices!  Mikey is so cute wanting to kiss his baby brother all the time and gives my belly kisses, its so sweet!  He say's he is excited to meet his new baby brother!

Potty training update- Mikey is doing really well!  He only has accidents every now and then, and it seems like it happens if he is overly tired or in an overwhelming situation.  He has gotten much better at pooping on the potty and hasn't had that kind of accident for at least a week.  Except for last week when he was at nap, he decided he didn't want to poop in his pullup, so he we on the floor in his room instead!  I am just glad it was solid, so it was pretty easy to clean up!  LOL!  But other than that he seems to be doing a great job!

We are trying to figure out what we are going to do next year about pre-school, and where to send Mikey.  He is very excited about going to school, and always says he wants to go to school like his uncle Dylan!

This coming weekend is the grace@home conference and I am so excited for it!  We are going to get acquainted with more tools to help our sons in their relationships with Christ.  It is going to be great, and I can't wait!

Well, I'm running out of things to say, so I'm going to close for now.  I hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

Gender Reveal Party - It's a BOY!!!

What an exciting party we had yesterday!  For those of you who couldn't make it, here is a re-cap of the events.

While we were waiting for everyone to arrive, everyone got to place their vote on the voting board, deciding what team they were going to play on.  As you can see, there were twice the votes for a girl!

We ate some snacks that were based off my cravings: Fruit, guacamole & chips, chocolate, cookies, and mini pigs-in-a-blanket.

After everyone arrived it was time for our first game.  Everyone took an Old Wives Tale quiz.  Team Pink had the member with the most correct answers, so they won!

As they were taking the quiz I looked over our guessing game guesses.  Team blue had a member with the closest guess, so they won that one.  So at this point we had a tied score of 1 each!

The next game we played everyone had a ping pong ball and whatever cup they made it into, that team got a point.  Team Pink won that game!

Our final game was shooting cups with a nerf gun.  Whichever team knocked the most cups down won.  Even with half the amount of members, team blue won this game!  So we ended with a tied score of 2!  So everyone got a prize!

We ended the party by cutting the cake to see if it was pink or blue, and it was blue!  So we are having another boy!  Mikey is going to have a little brother!!

Thanks everyone for coming to find out with us!

21 Weeks

Okay, so I took these pictures last night and when I was buying my fruit I could of swore that my comparison this week was a cantaloupe Well I guess I jumped ahead a few weeks because the cantaloupe isn't until week 24, its supposed to be a pomegranate this week.  Oh well!  Baby is growing a lot, about 10.5 inches and 12.7oz this week!

Last Thursday we had our sonogram and got to see our baby!  Mikey enjoyed seeing the baby!  Although, I don't know that he could really tell what he was looking at.  We are going to have a 4D sonogram done sometime next month, and he should be able to tell better.  The baby was sleeping most of the time during the sonogram, so there wasn't much wiggling going on!

I am so excited for our party Saturday, and so anxious to find out if we are expecting a girl or boy!  I have quite a few little things to do to get ready!

Last weekend Mikey and I went with my parents to pick up my brother in Manhattan, and then head to Salina to visit my Nana and Papa.  We celebrated my brothers birthday and hung out with family.  On the way back on Sunday we stopped in Abilene to visit my great-grandma, who has stage 4 ovarian cancer.  She seemed like she was in great spirits and enjoyed seeing us all.  We didn't stay very long because Mikey was getting antsy.

I am loving this weather that we are having!  It has been so nice not having to wear a coat and being able to spend time outside!  There are supposed to be some strong storms tonight, so hopefully everyone stays safe!  Hope everyone has a great rest of the week, and next post I will know the sex of the baby!  Yeah!!!

20 Weeks - Halfway There!

I am halfway there!  Its so hard to believe that in 20 more weeks I will be holding my baby!  The baby is as big as a banana this week.  Its kind of an awkward comparison since a banana is so skinny, but its based off the length, about 6.5 inches!  The baby is kicking/moving regularly now!  John was actually able to feel the kick for the first time on Saturday!

Saturday we took Mikey to an Easter egg hunt at Louisburg Cider Mill.  It wasn't much of a "hunt", it was more like a pick-up!  LOL!  Since it had rained earlier that morning the ground was kind of muddy, so they just dumped the eggs along the edge of sidewalks.  Mikey didn't care, he just wanted the candy!  The Easter bunny was there, and Mikey was kind of hesitant of her, but she gave him lots of eggs, so he warmed up to her!  LOL!  I was happy to get some of their yummy cider donuts!

Sunday was Easter and we went to church with my family then we went and ate lunch.  After we finished eating John hid eggs in my parents yard for Mikey to find.  He had so much fun finding them with a little help from Alexa and Dylan!  He ate way too much candy this weekend!

Potty training is going pretty good!  We are still working on going poopy on the potty.  Mikey hasn't had any peeing accidents for several days, but he has had a couple pooping accidents.  So we still are trying to get that down.

Thursday is my sonogram!  I am so excited to get to see how much baby has grown!  We are going to take Mikey so he can see his baby sister or brother!  He ask all the time to hear baby's heartbeat, and last night he gave the baby a kiss goodnight, it was so sweet!  I am so anxious to find out whether its a girl or boy, but I still have to wait another week after the sonogram until our gender reveal party!

The good news is, its starting to warm up (knock on wood)!  Its so exciting that we will get to play outside soon and won't have to wear coats anymore!  I hope everyone has a great rest of the week!
