28 Weeks

Baby sure is growing like a weed!  He moves around like crazy all the time too!  Yesterday he was kicking or punching and it actually hurt a bit.  I am getting this posting up a little late considering I'm 29 weeks today.  LOL!  But better late than never!

I had my 3-hour glucose test last Wednesday and I passed with flying colors!  Thank God!  It would not be fun to have gestational diabetes!  My doctor said my levels were way below the concerned range!

On Saturday we had our 4D ultrasound.  It was so neat to see the baby in so much detail!  Unfortunately, he was sleeping most of the time despite the fact that I ate some chocolate right before!  We did confirm that he is definitely a boy, he wasn't shy at all!  At one point he was actually chewing on his umbilical cord, it was so cute!

We still have not been able to come up with a name.  At this point it seems like He is going to be here before we actually have a name!  LOL!  Yesterday I set up my pre-admission appointment at the hospital.  Its in 3 weeks, I can't believe I am that close already!

Monday, after our monsoon of a rain storm, we went to the nursery to pick out plants and flowers for our front landscape.  Even though the ground was drenched John was able to plant them that evening.  It looks great, but I think we may need a few more flowers in some areas since there is still some bare spots!  LOL!
The next few weeks are going to be busy busy busy!  Mikey is going to be starting baseball in a couple of weeks.  I have Summer Breakout in a couple of weeks as well that I am volunteering for.  SBO is like Vacation Bible School on steroids, it is going to be so much fun!  I have been helping plan it since September last year, so it will be awesome to see it all in action!

Hopefully we are going to have some nice weather this weekend.  John is going to start building Mikey's playset if it is!  That will be a lot of fun for Mikey to play on when he gets it done!

Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

27 Weeks

I made it to the third trimester!  Woohoo!  Baby is as big as a rutabaga this week.  Honestly, I think my rutabaga is smaller than the head of lettuce I had last week!  LOL!  I'm also not sure what to do with it now, I have no clue what to use a rutabaga for.  So the Prilosec is definitely helping a lot!  I haven't had to take any tums since I started taking it last Thursday morning, and I feel great not having that stupid reflux!  This Saturday we are going to have a 4D sonogram done.  I am so excited to be able to see our baby again and in so much detail!

So as I said last week I had my glucose screening test, and I failed it by 2 points!  So now, I have to go in tomorrow to take the 3 hour test.  Urg!  I have to be there at 7:45am after fasting for 12 hours so they can draw my blood.  Then I have to drink that super sugary drink, think about kool-aid with at least twice the amount of sugar, and they draw my blood after 1, 2, & 3 hours.  Its not going to be fun at all, and I am probably going to be starving by the time I am done!

Well I dropped off the paperwork and deposit for Mikey's preschool next year.  He is very excited to go, and I know he is going to love it!  I just can't believe how big my little boy is getting!  Where has the time gone?

We had a nice time visiting my Nana and Papa in Salina this last weekend.  Mikey and I rode down with my parents and picked up my brother in Manhattan.  John was already there because he was working at a bank in Salina for the weekend, which is why we went down in the first place.  It was an interesting drive on the way home on Sunday because of all of the storms.  We basically drove through all of them, then when we got home the ones we drove through came here.  LOL!

We got our AC fixed yesterday.  It was low on freon again, so he had to refill it.  We have a small leak somewhere, but it is the original AC/Heater to the house, so at least it still works!  I'm sure we are going to have to replace it sometime in the next couple of years.  Right now we don't even have it on since its going to be in the 70's all week, and I love the fresh air!

On the other hand, our big freezer in our garage isn't doing so hot, oh wait, it is too hot and not cold enough...lol!  We need to get a new one before it completely stops working and all of our meat and everything else spoils!  It started doing the same thing at the end of last summer, but once winter hit and it cooled down it was able to stay pretty cold.  But its definitely time for a new one now!

I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and weekend!  Pray for my glucose test results to come back negative tomorrow!

26 Weeks

Baby sure is getting big!  I am still constantly going to the bathroom!  I'm having horrible acid reflux and have been taking Tums like crazy!  I finally asked my doctor today at my check-up what else I can take for it, and she gave me a bunch of samples of Prilosec.  Hopefully that will help!  Baby still kicks like crazy, and he has started getting hiccups a lot too.  Mikey had them all the time when I was pregnant with him, at least 2 or 3 times a day!

I had my glucose screening today, so hopefully those results come back negative!  Baby is measuring like he should which is great!  I start going to the doctor every 2 weeks now, I can't believe how close I am getting!  Next week, well actually tomorrow since I am posting this so late, I will officially be in my 3rd Trimester!  Its amazing how quickly this pregnancy seems to be going, and we still have a lot to do to get ready, like paint and get the baby room set up and we still need to pick out a name!  I don't know why it is so difficult this time!

We took Mikey on a preschool tour today, and are in the process of registering him!  He loved it there and didn't want to leave, and John and I liked it a lot too!  It's called Heritage Christian Academy Preschool.  They are also a private school for K-12, but the preschool is sort of separate.  So we have that taken care of, I just need to turn in the paperwork next week!

Our AC isn't working very well, so it has been nice and hot in our house the past couple of days!  Last summer we had to get freon added to it and it worked fine all summer, so we probably need to have that done again.  We are having someone come look at it sometime soon!

As you can see Mikey was picking at and eating my lettuce last night when we were taking the pictures!  I guess its a good thing that he likes lettuce so much!  LOL!

Well, its about time for us to eat dinner so we can go to church.  So I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and weekend!

25 Weeks

Baby boy is as big as a head of cauliflower this week!  He is sitting really low, definitely lower than Mikey was at this point!  It seems like I have to go to the bathroom constantly, and the annoying part is that half the time I don't even go that much!

It has finally got nice outside, and for now it seems like it is going to stay that way...knock on wood!  It is supposed to rain for a few days starting tomorrow, but I can handle a warm rain, its that cold stuff I am tired of!  LOL!  Last weekend was kind of icky and rainy, so John wasn't able to get any of his outdoor projects done.  We did start cleaning out the baby room though!

On Saturday, I found my dream stroller on craigslist, and got it for more than half off what it would cost new!  Its a Joovy Caboose Ultralight Sit & Stand stroller and they retail new for $260+!  I was excited to finally find one.  I have been looking for a while, and they are very hard to find!

Mikey started swim lessons last night, and he loved them!  He is taking them at the YMCA, since we are members there we get the lessons really cheap!  I signed him up to play baseball (probably t-ball) in JuneDaddy will have to help him too!  I am excited for him to start that and he says he is too!

Michial's potty training is going well!  I don't think he has had an accident in at least a week (knock on wood again) other than at nap time!  The other day he peed a little bit in his undies but was able to stop himself until he got to the potty!

Not much has really happened this week, so I don't have much else to say!  So I am going to take a bathroom break!  :-)  Hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week!

24 Weeks - It's V-Day!

This week was a big milestone in my pregnancy!  Last Thursday, was "V-Day" (viability day), which means if the baby were to be born any day from here on out, he has a much better chance of survival!  The survival rate is 40-70% this week, and goes up to 50-80% next week (tomorrow), and at week 26 goes up to 80-90%, and after that it just keeps going up!  But I would just rather have baby stay in a bit longer, at least 14 more weeks!  LOL!

Anyways, baby is as big as an ear of corn this week.  Actually as long as, baby isn't that long and skinny!  LOL!  The other comparison is a cantaloupe, but I prematurely used that comparison a couple of weeks ago, so i didn't want to take another picture with a cantaloupe.  The baby sure has been kicking/moving up a storm lately!  It seems like he is moving every time I sit down, I'm not sure when he sleeps!  LOL!  We still are no closer to picking a name, its so hard!  I wish it was as easy as picking Mikey's name!  LOL!

We signed Mikey up for swimming lessons that start on Monday and is once a week for 6 weeks!  I am so excited to see how he likes them!  Then in June he is going to play Bitty Baseball which is 4 weeks, but 2 times a week!  So I hope he will have fun!

Last Saturday I went to get a long overdue pedicure and manicure!  It had been over a year since I had had one!  It felt wonderful!  :-)

This last Monday John was off of work, so we took Mikey to the zoo.  He loved having his daddy there!  I think he maybe rode in the stroller for 10 minutes total.  He was either walking or was riding on daddy's shoulders.  Mikey of course fell asleep on the way home because he was so exhausted!

Yesterday it was about 85 degrees outside and we gave Beau a bath.  Mikey helped daddy give him a bath and then had his turn being sprayed with the hose!  We have a small Little Tikes slide and John was spraying it with the hose to create a water slide.  Mikey loved it and didn't want to stop for dinner!  It is 80 again today, and can you believe we are supposed to have a snowstorm tomorrow night?  In May!  It's only supposed to be 39 degrees tomorrow.  :-(  I thought we were finally going to get warm weather to stay, but I guess I was wrong!

I hope you all have a great rest of the week!
