6 Weeks

I am writing this post late, since I am actually 7 weeks now.  This was Christmas week, and I was so busy trying to get everything ready and making sure I had all the presents wrapped!  We told our families this week over Christmas in a very fun way!  I took a picture of Mikey holding a sign that said "I'm going to be a big brother" and put the picture in frames that said "Grandkids" and wrapped them up as a present.

John's parents were the first to unwrap their gift since we spent Christmas Eve with them.  After Mikey opened his presents I had John give the frame to his mom to open. They were very excited when they saw the picture, and couldn't believe it!

On Christmas morning we were at my parents house with my sister and brother, and everyone had finished opening their gifts except for my parents, since they had been so busy taking pictures of everyone else opening their presents.  I told my mom to open her presents and she started to open the frame.  She looked at it and freaked out, and everyone else didn't know what was going on, so one by one they all went over and looked at the picture and they all freaked out too!  They were all so excited!

We all had a great Christmas, and it was so exciting to share our news with our families!  It was hard keeping it a secret from them for so long!  We still haven't told our extended families, we were waiting for our ultrasound!!

5 Weeks

This has been a great week!  As far as symptoms I haven't had to many yet.  I've had on and off mild cramps, I've been really tired, and I've had some horrible heartburn/reflux.  Towards the end of the week the nausea and morning sickness started.

This last weekend we went to my Nana and Papa's house.  John, my dad and brother went hunting while my mom, Mikey and I stayed and hung out with my Nana and Papa.  We had an awesome time playing games and visiting with them.

It was so hard keeping our awesome news from everyone, but we want it to be a Christmas surprise!  So by the time anyone is actually going to read this, I will be farther along than 5 Weeks.

Anyways, I am so looking forward to Christmas!

The Storm & Glimpse of a Rainbow

The Storm

In January 2012 John and i decided to try for baby # 2, Mikey was 1 1/2 years old.  I had been cleared by all of my doctors, and was well on the way to full recovery...well as fully recovered as I can get!   If you are not familiar with my medical history, you can read my other blog Keeping Faith Through it All.

We got pregnant on our first attempt!  We were so excited!  Even though I had experienced 2 early miscarriages before Mikey I wasn't really worried.  I mean I carried Mikey full term with no complications, so I was going to do it again...Right?  Everything was going great, John and I went in for my first scan so excited to see our baby!  I was 8weeks so we were going to see the heartbeat and everything.  My OB started doing the scan, and there was our baby.  But I could see the worried look on her face even though she hadn't said anything.  Where was the heartbeat?  The baby was only measuring at 6weeks and I was supposed to be 8.  My OB sent me to get a more powerful scan to see if she just couldn't find it.  Same results.  I couldn't believe this was happening again.  The first 2 were a lot earlier at 4.5 and 5 weeks, so I was way past that, and they had started on their own.  I had to go in the next day March 1st to have a d&c.  I was heartbroken!

The Glimpse of a Rainbow

On December 3rd, 2012 I got long prayed for Christmas miracle!  I found out that I was pregnant!  John and I are so excited!  I still get worried sometimes, because of my previous miscarriages, but we are just taking it one day at a time!  I have my first ultrasound December 28th, and we are hoping to see a healthy baby and heartbeat!
